Type Locality and Naming

The type section is located on the south slope of Deriangma Mt. to Xiala Mt., 6 km northeast of Yunzhug Township, Xianza, Tibet. It was named by Yang Shipu and Fan Yingnian in 1982.


Lithology and Thickness

Limestone. Gray-white massive compact limestone, with moderately thick-bedded pink compact limestone and bioclastic limestone at top, and locally with brecciated limestone and pebbly limestone. Thickness 240 m.

Lower contact

Conformable contact with the underlying Duonageli Fm

Regional extent

Mainly distributed in Yunzhug Township of Xianza County, Chaguoluoma Mt., Deriangma Mt. and the Gyêwa area

Corals Humboldtia sp., Parahumboldtia stereoseptata, Ekvasophylloides simplex, E. stenocystatum and Siphonophyllia mulitiseptata.
